How My Outside View is Key

People have what is called a perception bias - which means they are biased towards believing only favorable information on critical matters close to them, while blocking out disruptive information.

Successful business executives are not immune. Perception bias explains why once successful companies, such as Sears, sat idly by while startups like Walmart, then Amazon got a foothold, and went on to dominate their market - eventually driving Sears into bankruptcy.

As a consultant, I would have shown Sears how Amazon's lower cost basis and profit structure threatens the existence of their company - along with a set of actions to counter the challenge. My role is to research, analyze - and report key findings, along with actionable steps you can take now to better position your company.
